For the past year at school I have been doing Visual Basic in a computing class, I do not know much at all about the language itself but am learning quite quickly.
My issue is I want to be able to take projects home to work on, but from what I understand Visual Basic 6.0 (The one we use at school) apparently can't be installed on W7. Not sure how that works because they have it on the W7 computers at school, people do seem to strongly suggest a XP VM.
Can Visual Basic.net (From what I've gathered it is the language that replaced Visual Basic 6.0) read/edit files created in 6.0?
I feel a bit out of depth because I really don't know what I'm talking about, anyone who can help me is much appreciated
