Slide show to display text messages

I need to create a slideshow to create Text messages on 4 monitors for the company i work for. I need to read the data from a text file, on to different slides, like in power point, any ideas would be helpful. We would use it to display hot jobs, holidays, missing time slips and other things.

My idea is to use different text files for each so called slide, into a rich text box, and read the "date modified", to update the slides, so that if the file has been modified, the slide is updated. Has anyone done something like this, or do you guys have any ideas!!!

I haven't started messing with code yet, but i think it's simple enough, the only thing that may be a snag is updating the slide, when the files are updated.
